RULES OF THE YARD

Rules of the yard must also be obeyed at all times. These rules are in place for customers safety. Failure to comply may result in customers being asked to leave.

 

  1. Customers are required to provide their own suitable ladders or gangways as a safe means of access to their vessel at all times whilst on site wether that vessel is moored alongside a jetty,pontoon,quayside or ashore. Ladders and gangways must be securely fastened to prevent accident. Customers ladders must clearly be marked with vessel name. Customers are not permited to use yard ladders or gangways or any yard equipment.

  2. Customers may not move shores, blocks or boatstands underneath a vessel propped up ashore at any time.

  3. If a cordon is in use to protect a work zone on the site (ie. launching or retrieving a boat or the slipway) customers must stay outide of the cordon zone for their own safety.

  4. Any subcontractor must notify the yard manager before comencement of works. A minimum 10% charge of subcontractors labour bill will be payable to Underwoods Hard Ltd.

  5. Work must be done in a safe manner, in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, to provide for the safety of property and the safety of contractor personnel, boat yard personnel, and the general public. Work sites must be kept clean and orderly. Work that could create a hazard to people or property must be appropriately delineated to prevent injury or property damage. Use of unsafe equipment (e.g. improperly grounded power tools) is prohibited. Accidents must be reported to the boat yard office.
